Warbirds Over Monroe FREE Hangar Dance  Nov 9, 2019 5:00-9:00 pm

Monroe Executive Airport, 3900 Paul J Helms Dr., Monroe, NC 28110

Beginner Lesson approx. 5:00 pm by Denise & Tom Bach of (Immediately after The Wall of Fire at 4:45 pm)

Dinner 6:00 pm for pilots and public (Free but donations welcomed)

Dancing 6:30-ish - 9:00pm with The Reflection Big Band.  (Dancing starts after the band finishes dinner)  The dance itself is free and usually goes a couple hours.

WWII uniforms or 1940’s period dress (or veterans in your military uniform) is requested but not required.  There are reenactors there and the period dress makes it extra fun.  Airplane hangars have concrete floors, not wood floors.    Plan to wear shoes that will work best for you on this surface.  Airplane hangars at times can be a bit cool so depending on outside temperature, layers of clothing are sometimes nice to have.

Although it is free for those coming to the hangar dance only, the airshow is always fantastic and is well worth it to buy a ticket and spend the day out there. If going to the airshow too, be sure to bring your lawn chair, visors, sunglasses, warm coats (if chilly) and cameras.  General Admission tickets for the event are $15 for adults, $10 for youth ages 12- 18, and $5 for current and former military service men and women. Children under 12 are FREE. .  Advance ticket sales online will allow guests to purchase tickets at a discounted rate and have quicker admission through the gates. Advance ticket sale ordering and options can be found by clicking the link below:

Airshow Info:

Hangar Dance Parking

WWII Hangar Dance with The Reflection Big Band

This parking is for those going ONLY to the Hangar Dance.  You will not be able to park here for the regular airshow.  (There is free public parking and shuttle service across the street from the airport for those going to the airshow).

If going only to the hangar dance and want to get in on the 5:00 pm dance lesson try to get there around 4:30 pm to get through the traffic and let the police officers directing traffic know that you are going to the Hangar dance inside the airport and they should allow you to go inside the airport.  They generally make the roads around the airport one way for smooth flow of shuttles that are dropping off people from the parking across the street from the airport so follow the yellow arrows on the map to get to the inside airport parking.
