This will be at the large white hangar inside the gate of the airport.

Beginner Lesson approx. 5:00 pm by Denise & Tom Bach of CharlotteSwingDance.com (Immediately after The Wall of Fire at 4:45 pm)    

Dinner and Dancing 6:00 - 9:00pm with the 208th Army Band 

Attire:

 WWII uniforms or 1940’s period dress (or veterans in your military uniform) is requested but not required.  There are reenactors there and the period dress makes it extra fun.  Airplane hangars have concrete floors, not wood floors.    Plan to wear shoes that will work best for you on this surface.  Airplane hangars at times can be a bit cool so depending on outside temperature, layers of clothing are sometimes nice to have.  

Airshow Info:

This year the 208th Airforce Band will play for the Hangar Dance.  This is one of the largest civilian air shows on the East Coast, Warbirds Over Monroe has something for everyone. From jets and warbirds, aerobatics, comedy, choppers, re-enactors and so much more, the annual event brings history to life. Bring the kids to not only learn about these massive pieces of American history, but also honor the brave service men and women as part of a great Veterans Day celebration. With more than 40 vintage aircraft, the Air Show, along side the fantastic food and kids activities, is truly a one-of-a-kind experience that can't be missed. Event is held rain or shine. This parking is for those going ONLY to the Hangar Dance.  You will not be able to park here for the regular airshow.  (There is free public parking and shuttle service across the street from the airport for those going to the airshow).  If you are attending the dance after the airshow, you will want to get to your car and move it into the airport.  There is no shuttle service after the dance.

If going only to the hangar dance and want to get in on the 5:00 pm dance lesson try to get there around 4:30 pm to get through the traffic and let the police officers directing traffic know that you are going to the Hangar dance inside the airport and they should allow you to go inside the airport.  They generally make the roads around the airport one way for smooth flow of shuttles that are dropping off people from the parking across the street from the airport so follow the yellow arrows on the map to get to the inside airport parking.
